Dr. Florin C Serban, COMS Lecturer, represented HKBU at the recent "GenAI in learning, teaching and assessment" event. This online seminar brought together representatives from all eight UGC-funded institutions in Hong Kong to discuss the integration of Generative AI in higher education.

Speaking to an audience of over 700 participants, Dr. Serban shared insights on incorporating Generative AI into writing and design courses. He addressed the primary challenges encountered in this process. He explored strategies to motivate students to view AI as a valuable knowledge creation and distribution tool. Dr Serban's presentation contributed to the event's goal of sharing good practices and addressing the unprecedented challenges and opportunities that GenAI has brought to academia.
