Thriving Beyond Quarantine – Public Relations and Advertising Competition 2020

During the COVID-19 outbreak, the centurial pandemic put all large-scale gatherings and events on hold, but nothing can stop TYA’s Public Relations and Advertising Competition (AdCom). The Young Agency (TYA), in collaboration with PRHK, HK4A and Anymind Group, successfully organized an unprecedented HKBU’s AdCom on 19 April 2020. The competition went innovative and viral this year – it was held online via Zoom for the very first time with a total of 56 participants. All participants and judges also interacted actively via the chatbox.

This year’s client was Bioderma. Being divided into 4 teams, ‘Tiger’, ‘Dragon’, ‘Phoenix’ and ‘Cobratle’, students initiated university campaigns that celebrate and echo Bioderma’s 25th anniversary campaign theme – RESPECT. The ‘Best Campaign Award’ and ‘Creative Campaign Award’ were awarded to team Phoenix and Cobratle respectively. Winners were granted with product gift sets from Bioderma, as well as internship offers from PRHK and Anymind Group to foster their potential in the public relations and advertising industry.

Ending on a high note, guest judges especially shared high praises and applause for the creativity of each student, and the appreciation for the innovative efforts to carry out the competition during the epidemic.
