Organizational communication (ORGC) is not just related to the industrial or commercial sector. Our ORGC students also place equal weight on the universal values we all treasure. One of the most remarkable actions they took was developing a campaign for Amnesty International Hong Kong, a regional branch of the world’s largest human rights organization.
The campaign, ‘Run for Her’, was the fruit of their professional knowledge, leadership ability and creative mind. When people usually ‘walk the talk’, our ORGC students designed a street running event for the public to ‘run the talk’.
To draw the public’s attention to sexual violence against women in a different way, participants had to take up the role of victims and fled from the physical and verbal abusers by running a route of 4 km. It was through the ups and downs of the route that the participants felt the psychological hardship of the victims.
Experience speaks louder than talks – this is the belief behind our young communicators’ initiative.
