COMS hosted Charles Lankester, Executive Vice President of Global Reputation at Ruder Finn Asia, for a workshop on negotiation skills. The three-hour session was open to undergraduate students and drew on Mr. Lankester's 20 years of experience in communications, marketing, and reputation management.
The workshop addressed negotiation as both a professional and interpersonal discipline. Students were introduced to techniques in building rapport, active listening, and decision-making under pressure. Such competencies apply broadly across the communication industry.
Mr. Lankester's visit is part of the Department's ongoing series of industry engagements, which bring senior practitioners into the curriculum to complement students' academic training with direct professional exposure.
