The Department of Communication Studies and the Public Relations Association of Hong Kong (PRHK) held a career workshop for Public Relations and Advertising students on January 23, 2026.

Two PRHK Board Members led the session: Mr. Kevin On, General Manager of The Hoffman Agency, and Mr. Cody Roberts, Founder of Genesis Partners. Both speakers drew on their experience in Hong Kong's public relations industry to provide guidance on building careers in strategic communications.

The workshop covered four key areas: career planning in public relations, creating effective LinkedIn profiles, writing CVs for communications positions, and interview techniques. Students received practical instruction on presenting their academic work and experience to potential employers.

Mr. On and Mr. Roberts shared current perspectives on hiring practices and industry expectations, helping students understand what employers seek in entry-level candidates. The session included opportunities for students to ask questions about specific career paths and professional development.

The workshop connects classroom learning with industry practice. The department provides students with direct access to practitioners who can offer concrete advice on entering the communications field.

This session is part of the department's professional development programming, which includes coursework, internships, and industry events designed to prepare students for employment in strategic communication.
