Year 1 students enrolled in PRAO2015 Principles and Practices of PR stepped outside the classroom this spring, visiting two of Hong Kong's leading public relations agencies as part of a series of industry visits organised by Dr Henry Fung.

Visit 1: FleishmanHillard Hong Kong

Nearly 40 students visited the Hong Kong office of FleishmanHillard, where they were hosted by Patrick Yu, General Manager; Cynthia Chan, Senior Vice President; and Carmen Yu, Lead of the Technology Practice. Senior practitioners introduced the agency, shared recent campaign work across sectors - including work with football clubs and technology companies - and opened the floor to questions before leading students on an office tour. The visit gave students a grounded introduction to agency life and how PR teams are structured to serve clients across diverse industries.

Visit 2: Edelman

Twenty-six students visited Edelman's Hong Kong office, hosted by Belyndia Wang, Chief Operating Officer for the Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan offices, and Sofia Yip, Head of Brand and Gen Z Lab and APAC Lead. As with the first visit, practitioners shared an overview of the agency alongside recent campaign projects, followed by a Q&A session and office tour. Students gained exposure to how a global agency operates across markets and received candid insights into emerging trends and career pathways in the industry.

Both visits aim to build dialogue with senior practitioners, giving students an opportunity to engage with working professionals in a candid and informal setting.
