Students from the PRAO3056 Campaign Planning course, under the supervision of Dr. Vivienne Leung, collaborated with World Vision Hong Kong in the previous semester to address the critical global issue of hunger.
The campaign project focused on increasing university students' awareness and engagement around hunger issues. Students developed comprehensive campaigns from initial research through final presentation, demonstrating growth in both technical skills and social consciousness.
The course emphasised several key learning outcomes that prepared students for professional practice. Students developed consumer insights, an essential skill for effective campaign planning. The incorporation of peer evaluation sessions during final presentations enhanced collaborative learning, allowing students to provide constructive feedback and learn from one another's approaches. Each group crafted strategic messages and strategies tailored explicitly to university audiences.
This service-learning initiative demonstrates the Department's commitment to connecting academic coursework with real-world social challenges. Students gained practical experience in campaign development while contributing to an important humanitarian cause, preparing them as socially conscious communicators who can apply their skills to meaningful community impact initiatives.
