Irene is a seasoned communications professional with more than a decade of experience in public relations, financial communications, and corporate communications across Hong Kong and Mainland China. Most recently, Irene served as a Director at Hill+Knowlton Strategies (Hong Kong) (Now known as Burson) in the Financial Communications Team. In this capacity, she managed a diverse portfolio of public and private companies, financial institutions, and professional services firms, including HSBC Hong Kong, FWD Hong Kong, Bybit, and Clifford Chance. Her expertise spans external media relations, internal communications, branding, and award-winning campaigns, with her work earning accolades such as the PR Awards Asia-Pacific 2024 (Bronze Award for Technology Campaign) and the WPP Tech Awards.

Prior to rejoining Hill&Knowlton, Irene was part of the communications team at OCBC Bank’s wholly owned subsidiaries in Mainland China and Hong Kong, where she oversaw corporate communications, media relations, branding, and issues management across retail banking, treasury, and corporate banking. A key highlight of her tenure at OCBC Bank was successfully managing the communications strategy for the integration of OCBC Bank (China) and Wing Hang Bank (China) in 2015.

Irene’s career also includes her first tenure at Hill&Knowlton in 2011, where she worked on financial communications for notable clients like Petro China and China Minsheng Banking Corp etc.,., she was also actively involved in several IPO communications projects. Prior to joining Hill+Knowlton, she worked at Edelman Hong Kong.

Irene holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) degree from the School of Communications at Hong Kong Baptist University, where she majored in Public Relations and Advertising. Graduating with First Honors, she was awarded the Edelman Martin Spurrier Scholarship.
