Advice to Students
 

Looking for perfection, but understanding that perfection doesn’t exist.

Sunny Sui-kwong Lam is an Associate Professor of Advertising and Media Design in the Department of Creative Arts, School of Arts and Social Sciences, Hong Kong Metropolitan University. His scholarly expertise spans interdisciplinary research and cultural studies, with a focus on advertising, consumer behaviour, digital media, emotional branding, film and media arts, health communication, identity politics, participatory culture, and visual and mobile communication.

Lam co-organized the International Conference of Art, Design & Technology (ICADT) 2024, which was supported by the IIDS grant from the Research Grants Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, China (UGC/IIDS16/E01/23). From 2015 to 2018, he served as the Director of the Digital Culture Research Centre within the Research Institute for Digital Culture and Humanities. Currently, he is the Associate Editor of the Springer book series of Digital Culture and Humanities: Challenges and Developments in a Globalized Asia.

Lam has contributed extensively to international academic discourse, publishing several articles in esteemed books and journals on topics such as city branding, active and healthy ageing, and community health and well-being, through the lens of digital communication.
