Advice to Students

Our world is changing faster than ever before.
What we used to think is right,
somehow has become wrong today.

So doing wrong is the new right?

Well, not exactly.
Because deep in our hearts, we know some things are always right.

It’s right to be different.
It’s right to seek beauty even in darkness.
It’s right to bring joy to others.
It’s right to work hard to live a good life.
It’s right to tell the truth.
And it’s right to embrace love.
These things can never be wrong.

So no matter how much the world changes,
let’s follow what’s right in our hearts.

Miranda Shing is a distinguished Art Director and creative strategist with over two decades of experience at the forefront of the industry,

her career is defined by compelling visual storytelling, conceptual rigor, and an unwavering commitment to craft.

Miranda’s creative journey began at the prestigious Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design, where she cultivated the foundation of her aesthetic philosophy.

Harnessing that design discipline, she transitioned into the world of advertising, leading high-impact commercial campaigns and shaping brand narratives as a sought-after Art Director and Creative Leader.

Over the past twenty-plus years, her work has resonated on both regional and global stages.

Her creative portfolio has earned some of the industry's most esteemed accolades, including top honors at the Cannes Lions, Clio Awards, The One Show, Spikes Asia, Hong Kong Kam Fan Awards, and the China Longxi International Advertising Awards.

Beyond her commercial success, Miranda is deeply committed to nurturing the next generation of creative thinkers.

For a decade, she served as a Visiting Lecturer at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and her alma mater, the PolyU School of Design. In academia, she shared her proprietary art direction methodologies, bridging the gap between theoretical design principles and real-world creative execution.

Today, Miranda continues to push creative boundaries—balancing agency leadership, strategic art direction, and mentorship to inspire the future of design and advertising.
