COMS Scholars Receive Prestigious Grants

Professor Yi-Ru Regina Chen (above left) and Assistant Professor, Keonyoung Park (above right) of the Department of Communication have been awarded the prestigious 2023 Arthur W. Page Centre grants.

Professor Chen won the Legacy Scholar grant in the Prosocial Communication track for her research project, ‘Creating shared purpose, dialogic communication, organization listening and tensions: Exploring the role of communication to resolve ageing-care problems in Australia and New Zealand’.

Dr. Park was also awarded the Legacy Scholar grant in the Digital Analytics track for her project, ‘Toward trust: The importance of algorithm transparency signaling in AI-assisted communication’.

Every year, the Arthur W. Page Centre announces its competition for the study of integrity in public communication.

The Centre awards grants of $500 to $10,000 each to support scholars and professionals making important contributions to the knowledge, practice or public understanding of ethics and responsibility in public communication.

The Centre supports innovative research and educational or public service projects in a wide variety of academic disciplines and professional fields.
